Job at a call center- Is it demanding
Guys!!!! if you were to be working in a call center, please come forward with your forthright comments on the different ailments that one gets by working in a call center. To work in such demanding situation should we have a sound mind or should it be a sound body. Guys put your thinking caps to bring out the difficulities of being into a night shift job.

Sound Body 30% and Sound Mind 70% this is what I feel one should have to work in a call center. After working in night shifts for the past 4 years I am quite okay with it. There are some challenges that I face but am comfortably handling it.
Your mental strength/ability is all that matters to be in this kind of a job.
My kind advice to ppl in night shifts is to eat, sleep and excercise well. This can help you keep going.
Very true, I agree with Maran not on the %age though, it could vary with person to person but for sure both are really important and does play significantly here.
In addition to food habits, sleep & exercise, what is also essential is to make sure that you are open to recreational activities. Also what would help greatly is to plan your routines, proper usage of available time & laugh out when you get a chance to ;)
well to work in a call center its just that you should have a peaceful mind and also a good set of frnz.... if thats there then you will naturally love to work... caz the environment is totally diff... the more you have fun... the less you would realise its a nightshift job... a monotonous one etc... and you will also not feel the preseure...
and the very best part abt this industry is you get so much money... sometimes you dont have time to spend it... :D :D
I agree with swami, but I believe ppl working in call centers are not taking care of their health. And too much of outside food (junk food) spoils their health.
To wk in a call centre u need both sound mind and body.Any field as such requires both but then here 'cos they r open 2 wk odd hrs ppl shud tk spl care 2 retain a gud health a sudden change in the daily routine wud upset both mental peace & physical health.no point in losing de health and wkg. ppl shud tk spl care 2 maintain both at a gud balance. An individual's lifestyle(diet+workout) reflects his physical fitness but for a healthy and a happy mindset they shud spare sum time for themselves get indulged in activities which could gv them hapiness may it be books, music, time spent with family &friends........Considering the fact tat mostly young guys& gals work at call centers they shud be aware and open to tk efforts to tk care f their health. Late teens when opened to earn do tk heavy decisions tat could affect their future this is where they shud ve a sound mind this again purely depends on huw they had been moulded. To conclude both sound mind & body is demanded to overcome de difficulties.

Jokes apart... anything that you do in the night have been empirically "boring" in the long run. You feel, you want to do that in the morning. This includes jobs in call centers too. Though it has opened up opportunities for many, people dont see it as a long-term career. Call centres have done to India, what Walmart did to US.For people that need pocket money, that need money to fund their studies, marriage expenses etc Call-center jobs is a best bet and I appreciate the service that call centers are doing to the economy and our young people. Good for India. Good for US.

Working in the NIGHT SHIFT...is it that big!! folks it is time immemorial people work on night shifts. I am remainded of the nurses and doctors,hotel receptionist to the manger to the security.the people at the telephone exchange, the cops to the drivers to the airhostes to the pilot to the captain of the ship to the engine driver to the gaurd to the soldiers in the army to the artistes and scientists....not a big deal dude. It is just a matter of perception and how we alter ourselves to the nights at the Call Centre.
